Overnight Backpacking Trip: Lena Lake

Lower Lena Lake Backpacking Trip on June 15th till the 16th.

This is an entry level backpacking trip designed to train people who have not done an overnight backpacking trip. Also, it would be nice to relax and enjoy a night out in the olympics

Trip Info:
Lower Lena Lake is a short 3.3 mile hike in with a 1610ft elevation gain. This trip is Dog Friendly trail, so bring the furry friend!

For everyone who is going, we will meet a week or so before the trip to ensure everyone has the proper gear for an over night in the Olympics. We will be meeting at the LRS HQ building NOT at the trailhead unless specifically cleared by us prior to. Meeting time will be discussed at the pre expedition briefing a week prior to.

If you lack gear for this trip. LRS has gear for you to rent!!


PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO UTILIZE THE PROVIDED TRANSPORTATION! Unless otherwise arranged with LRS Staff

Necessary Gear:

  • Backpacking Pack

  • Backpacking Tent w/Rain fly or other shelter (Hammock, etc..)

    • Doesn’t have to be specifically a backpacking or ultra lite tent, but one that can be easily carried by you. Less is more.

  • Sleeping Pad

    • properly rated for the season

  • Backpacking stove or heating element (optional)

  • Water source (camelbak, multiple water bottles, etc…)

  • Eating utensils (Cup, bowl, plate, fork/spoon/knife)

  • Flashlight/Headlamp

Recommended Gear:

  • Multiple pairs of socks, recommend 2 pairs depending on your preference

  • Broken in Hiking boots

  • Rain jacket/poncho

  • 550 cord

  • Fishing Pole/Tackle

  • Swim trunks or suits

There is gear rentals available but we must know ahead of time what gear you need.
